Mr. Bulelani Thandabantu Ngcuka

B. Proc. (University of Fort Hare), L.L.B. (UNISA), M.A. (University of Webster, Geneva, Switzerland).

The Founder Member of Vuwa Investments (Proprietary) Ltd., Mr Ngcuka has served as its Executive Chairman since April 2007. As a central figure in the South African story since the early nineties, Mr Ngcuka has earned the respect and admiration of many decision-makers in the financial, corporate, legal and political arenas.

From his early legal activist experiences to his role as one of the architects of the political transformation of South Africa, there are few more qualified to speak on the nature of empowerment in this country. As a business leader, Mr Ngcuka has a unique perspective on the role of empowered investments in the continuing journey to de-racialise the South African economy.

Mr Ngcuka was appointed National Director of Public Prosecutions in 1998, a position he held until he resigned in 2004.

He served on numerous boards including Transnet, GrowthPoint Properties, Mutual & Federal, STRB Attorneys. He also served as Chairman of Basil Read Holdings and Amabubesi Investments.

He currently serves as the Chairman of City Lodge Holdings, Menzies Aviation SA, M&S Holdings, Amadlelo Agri and Rolfes Technologies. He is a non-Executive Director of Buildmax Limited and Tradelink Textiles SA.
